Needles, radiators, measurements and position corrections. What it takes to keep an FTLA route open.

An FTLA route begins with a tear in spacetime. Human infrastructure listens, measures and stabilises it long enough to allow passage. It works with what is already there.

Concorders gather Needles into irregular constellations around an empty centre. Each Needle carries measuring instruments, a witness mass, radiators and the means to correct its position. Their arrangement depends on the route they maintain.

As it opens, a black seam can remove stellar parallax. Part of space then seems to belong to a different world. That is the strangeness we are trying to make visible.

Passage costs heat, time and maintenance. Keeping one route open can also draw on the capacity of other passages. The journey begins with these constraints.
